Unity Search has partnered with a family-run company in the Arlington area as they search for a Controller to replace the CFO who is retiring after being with the company for 30 years. This position will report to the CEO and is responsible for oversight of the entire accounting function, including Financial Reporting, Billing, GAAP compliance, internal controls, financial strategy, and audit management. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years hands on accounting experience in a lean environment, an accounting degree, and a CPA. Salary for this role will depend on experience but will roughly be around $150k - $175k + 10% bonus. This position is fully in office. - Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Review and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets.
- Manage cash flow, financial reporting, and variance analysis to support business decisions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including state filing requirements.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and financial institutions.
- Utilize Sage Intacct software to streamline financial processes and reporting.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the CEO to support company growth.
- Act as Accounting team lead – review day-to-day issues, manage workflow, escalate concerns and help uncover solutions.
