We are partnering with a well-respected client in Dallas who is seeking an Internal Audit Contractor starting in November. This is a highly visible role with direct exposure to senior management and the opportunity to travel domestically 30–50%.

The right professional will be a doer, someone who can lead and execute process and project audits, not just review work. This means digging into details, identifying control gaps, and working with management to drive corrective actions.

You’ll join a collaborative team with strong leadership and no micromanagement. The hiring manager is known for being supportive, approachable, and great to work with.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute process and project audits; identify issues and provide clear, actionable guidance

• Review costs and revenues by contractors/subcontractors and customers

• Recognize revenue sources and liabilities using work-in-progress methodology

• Perform division, region, and business process reviews to assess risks and evaluate controls

• Prepare clear audit reports with recommendations, and follow up on implementation

• Draft working papers and risk/control matrices

• Support the US Head of Audit with ad hoc assignments as needed

• Build strong relationships across the business, reflecting company values

Requirements

• 4+ years of internal audit experience

• Strong experience in process and/or project audits required

• Professional certification (CPA, CIA, CFE, or CISA) preferred

• Construction contract accounting experience strongly preferred

• Ability to interpret and understand contracts as they relate to controls and systems

• Strong engagement/project management skills with ability to deliver audits end-to-end

• Excellent communication skills with ability to work collaboratively and provide direction
