Unity is partnering with a highly respected Oil & Gas client in North Dallas to find a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Assistant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in basic accounting principles, strong numerical skills, and the ability to manage a variety of accounting tasks with minimal supervision. This role is essential to supporting day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all accounting records. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Prepare and maintain accurate Excel spreadsheets, including use of formulas and functions. 
• Enter financial transactions (receipts, expenses, invoices, etc.) into accounting systems with precision. 
• Verify and reconcile accounting entries to ensure accuracy and completeness. 
• Process outgoing payments, prepare checks, and assist with invoice generation. 
• Make remote bank deposits and track cash flows. 
• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end closing processes. 
• Organize, file, and maintain financial records and statements. 
• Support ad hoc accounting tasks and projects as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

• 3–5+ years of experience in an accounting support role or similar. 
• Experience in Oil & Gas accounting preferred. 
• Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial processes. 
• Proficient in 10-key by touch and accurate data entry. 
• Comfortable identifying and reconciling discrepancies in financial data. 
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail. 
• Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Familiarity with Baker Tilly software and SOGAS. 
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
