This position has a remarkable growth trajectory, with the plan of promoting this person to CFO within 1 year as the current CFO transitions into retirement. Job Description
Unity Search has partnered with a law firm based in Central Dallas that is looking to hire a Controller. This position has a remarkable growth trajectory, with the plan of promoting this person to CFO within 1 year as the current CFO transitions into retirement. This company offers a great work/life balance (mostly 40–45-hour weeks), phenomenal benefits (100% paid employee medical premiums), and a friendly/team-oriented culture. Depending on experience, this role will pay up to 135k + bonus.
Here are some of the responsibilities:
- Responsible for preparation, review and analysis of financial reports.
- Perform month end close responsibilities such as journal entries, account reconciliations, reporting and analysis.
- Accurate and timely preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Profit and Loss statements, and various detailed analyses reports.
- Implement system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Review intercompany transactions.
- Supervisory responsibility for team of accountants including AP & AR
Some of the requirements are:
- CPA required
- 3+ years of accounting experience (either industry or public/industry combined experience)
- Supervisory experience required
- QuickBooks, Sage, or system conversion experience strongly preferred
- Legal experience preferred
