Federal Income Tax Manager
Job Description
UNITY Search is looking for a contract Federal Income Tax Manager for a leading global financial services organization.
This role will play a critical part in managing consolidated federal income tax compliance, ASC 740 tax accounting, and tax reporting activities within a complex, highly regulated environment. This opportunity is well-suited for a senior tax professional with strong public accounting roots who can operate independently, manage external service providers, and partner effectively with accounting, finance, and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
This role will play a critical part in managing consolidated federal income tax compliance, ASC 740 tax accounting, and tax reporting activities within a complex, highly regulated environment. This opportunity is well-suited for a senior tax professional with strong public accounting roots who can operate independently, manage external service providers, and partner effectively with accounting, finance, and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- U.S. consolidated federal tax return and quarterly estimates
- ASC 740 GAAP tax provisions (current & deferred)
- Manage third-party tax providers and timelines
- Transactional tax support (M&A, dispositions)
- Technical tax research and documentation
- SOX controls and internal tax process documentation
- Partner with accounting, finance, and business teams
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
- 7+ years U.S. federal income tax experience
- Strong ASC 740 and GAAP tax accounting background
- Public accounting (Big 4 preferred) or large public company experience
- Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills
- Experience with tax research tools; ONESOURCE a plus
