Director of Accounting

Job Description
Well, this is NOT the case here! Unity Search has partnered with a unique business, (providing parts to the energy arena), to locate a Director of Accounting. Recession proof business with lots of organic and acquisitive growth happening!!
Additional Unique Attributes:
- Newly created role, this person will be able to come in and essentially "make this their own"
- High visibility - reports directly to the Controller with a lot of interaction/exposure to executive leadership, investor relations, the board. This person will also be peers and work closely with the Senior Manager of Finance
- Very stable company with a lot of organic growth as well as potential acquisitions on the horizon. They have also historically always paid out bonuses at 100%, aside from 2020 where they paid out at 80%
- Growth - while this person will be in the details, they will also have a growth path to the Controller, or even a place within the organization if they chose
- 40-hour work week, generally more during close but very consistent and predictable
- They are fully in office, but flexible on arrival/departure
What you'll do:
- Own the month end close process. They are on a tight 5-day close schedule. They need someone who can ensure accuracy and meet deadlines - so strong attention to detail.
- This has 3 direct reports and several indirect. Must be comfortable managing a team, but also hands on into the details.
- Work closely with Operations on budgets, etc., really be able to connect and sit down and explain the number to them.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA required
- 8+ years of experience including leadership
- Previous public accounting experience is ideal/preferred
- Attention to detail, ability to own the month end close process, ensuring accuracy
Compensation: $160-$170k base + 30% target bonus + 30% equity.
