Our client, a growing multi-location organization, is seeking an Interim AP Transformation Lead to support the accounting team during a period of transition and increased workload. The consultant will work closely with leadership and IT to oversee full-cycle Accounts Payable operations, support month-end close, and help evaluate and enhance the AP function, including supporting the RFP process for a new AP solution. This role will focus on driving structure, scalability, and efficiency across AP processes while maintaining accuracy and consistency.

Attributes:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 7+ years of accounting experience with strong AP focus
• Prior leadership experience managing AP teams
• Experience working in multi-entity or multi-location environments
• Strong experience with month-end close, accruals, reconciliations, and AP operations
• Experience supporting process improvement, automation, or system implementations (RFP exposure a plus)
• Experience with NetSuite strongly preferred
• Advanced Excel skills (reconciliations, data analysis)
• Oversee full-cycle AP processes including invoice coding, vendor management, and AP inbox workflows
• Support month-end close activities including accruals and reconciliations
• Manage and support AP staff while providing structure and oversight
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency
• Partner with leadership and IT to evaluate AP workflows and support system selection
• Assist with vendor analysis, allocations, and process enhancements
• Support ongoing process improvement, automation, and potential offshoring initiatives
