Our mission-driven client in Dallas is seeking an Interim Controller to bring leadership and execution to their core accounting function. This is an opportunity to join a values-based institution that makes a meaningful impact in the community. The client needs someone who can step in quickly to manage month-end close, oversee staff, and support compliance and audit activities.

Our mission-driven client in Dallas is seeking an Interim Controller to bring leadership and execution to their core accounting function. This is an opportunity to join a values-based institution that makes a meaningful impact in the community. The client needs someone who can step in quickly to manage month-end close, oversee staff, and support compliance and audit activities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end close and oversee day-to-day accounting operations.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Manage fund/grant-style accounting and compliance with applicable standards.
- Drive audit preparation and annual filing requirements (including 990-equivalent reporting).
- Partner closely with executive team to streamline processes and complete controller responsibilities.
- Strengthen reconciliations, reporting, and internal controls
- Education/Certification: CPA strongly preferred (or equivalent strong accounting background).
- Years of Experience: 10+ years of senior accounting experience with team leadership responsibilities.
- Skills: Strong month-end close, budget management, audit support, and supervisory experience; background in fund/grant or project-based accounting.
- Software: ERP System experience, advanced Microsoft Excel experience with VLOOKUP's, HLOOKUP's, macros, pivot tables, high-volume data analytical skills, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Onsite interview with CFO and leadership team
- Schedule: Fully on-site, Monday–Friday
