Unity Search is working on a Senior Tax Leader – State Income Tax Compliance (Contract-to-Hire) opportunity with a company in the Northwest Dallas area. This is a contract-to-hire role with an immediate need for hands-on support around multi-state income tax compliance, paired with the opportunity to step into a more strategic leadership position long term. The right person will come in ready to lead, stay close to the work during the contract period, and eventually take on broader ownership across tax planning and tax accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Work towards leading and managing a tax team, providing direction, oversight, and support
• Oversee and execute income tax compliance and have a strong understanding of state provision (ASC 740)
• Stay hands-on in the details during the contract period, ensuring deadlines and accuracy
• Partner with internal stakeholders across finance and accounting
• Transition into a more strategic role over time, with exposure to tax planning and broader tax functions

Requirements:

• Proven tax leadership experience managing and developing others
• Strong background in income tax compliance, state provision, and apportionment
• OneSource experience highly preferred
• Ability and willingness to be hands-on during a compliance-heavy interim period
• Solid understanding of tax accounting, with interest or experience in tax planning
• Must be based in the Dallas area
