UNITY has partnered with a growth-oriented organization seeking a contract-to-hire Senior License, Permits & Exemptions Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of business licenses, permits, and exemption certificates across all 50 states and U.S. territories.

This role is highly visible and critical to maintaining uninterrupted compliance across a multi-location footprint. The ideal candidate brings deep multi-jurisdictional regulatory experience, hands-on expertise with Avalara workflow knowledge, and a proactive mindset toward minimizing compliance risk and audit exposure.

Attributes:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of multi-state licensing, permitting, and exemption management experience in all 50 states and US territories
• Hands-on experience with Avalara in a compliance or tax function
• Strong knowledge of state and local licensing, exemption, and nexus requirements
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
