Position: Sales Tax Contractor
Location: North Dallas, TX
Duration: 4-week contract, with potential to extend
Schedule: Hybrid — 4 days onsite / 1 day remote • Roughly 40 hours per week (Company holidays: 12/24, 12/25, 12/31, 1/1) -Contract start date: 12/8

Overview:
If you’re someone who enjoys taking on short-term projects and making an immediate impact, this temporary contract role could be a great fit. A growing North Dallas tax department is looking for a hands-on contractor to help them get caught up and bring a little structure to their sales and income tax processes. You’ll handle return prep, work through notices and pending items, and support a variety of tax projects as the department continues to take shape. Because the function is still newer, your work will actually matter here. It’s ideal for someone who likes stepping in where they’re genuinely needed. While the project is intentionally short-term, it’s a great opportunity to keep your skills sharp and make a meaningful difference.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file sales and income tax returns accurately and on time

• Work through pending returns, notices, and supporting documentation for credits and incentives

• Support indirect tax duties, especially helpful for candidates with heavier income-tax backgrounds

• Jump in on additional tax projects as the department grows

Requirements:

• Prior experience with sales and income tax compliance

• Working knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations

• Ability to support both indirect and income tax needs

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Comfort working independently in a fast-moving environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Experience in a contract or consulting capacity

• CPA a plus, not required

Tools / Systems:

• No tax software in place yet — department is newly built

• Heavy Excel usage

• NetSuite ERP
