Job Description
- Location: Onsite/Hybrid – Dallas/Fort Worth (flexible based on candidate)
- Contract Length: Through Busy Season (approx. 4+ months, potential extension)
We are partnering with a well-established public accounting firm in the Dallas–Fort Worth market that is experiencing increased workload during busy season following a recent senior-level departure. The team is seeking an experienced tax professional who can step in immediately to provide hands-on support across complex compliance and return preparation. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, high-performing tax team and make an immediate impact during a critical period.
Position Summary:
The Senior Tax Consultant will provide day-to-day support across complex tax compliance and preparation work, serving as a seasoned, hands-on contributor during peak season. This role will focus primarily on preparing and reviewing corporate and partnership returns while assisting newer staff and helping maintain workflow efficiency. The ideal candidate is technically strong, self-sufficient, and comfortable stepping into an active workload with minimal ramp-up time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns, including C corps, S corps, and partnerships
- Support busy season compliance and preparation efforts across multiple client engagements
- Assist junior staff with technical questions and return review support as needed
- Manage multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality
- Collaborate with partners and managers to ensure smooth workflow and client delivery
- Utilize CCH Axcess, CaseWare, and related tax software efficiently
- Step into active engagements and contribute immediately with minimal training
- 7+ years of public accounting tax experience preferred
- Strong hands-on experience with complex business returns (C corp, S corp, partnerships)
- Proficiency in CCH Axcess and CaseWare required
- Prior experience supporting busy season in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and hit the ground running
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
